What is Sunday Reset Routine
Sunday is probably your favorite day of the week. But are you using it to your advantage?
Sundays are ideal for rest, relaxation, and recovery. In fact, having a ME-DAY in the form of a reset routine when you can sleep in, check in with yourself, relax, rejuvenate, and pamper yourself can significantly improve your well-being and productivity in the upcoming week.
A weekly reset routine has become an essential part of my self-care practice. This intentional practice allows me to clear my mind and renew my energy, helping me to realign with my goals and intentions. This way, I am able to approach each new week with a clear sense of direction.
Your reset routine may look different from others. But its purpose remains the same—to prepare you for the week ahead.
Since a Sunday reset routine is so important to have a productive week ahead. Today, let's walk through a simple weekly reset checklist to help you get started.
Sunday Reset Routine Checklist
This checklist includes 15 Sunday reset routine ideas to help you start the new week with a clear and focused mindset. You can incorporate the activities that align with your goals in your routine.
1. Start Your Day With Mindfulness
Monday blues are REAL. But do not let them get to you!
Regardless of how you plan to spend your day, taking a few minutes to practice mindfulness in the morning can help you feel more at ease and soothe the Sunday Scaries.
2. Tidy Up
To make your week easy and less stressful, dedicate an hour on Sunday to cleaning and organizing your living space. Besides, a good cleaning session is perfect to lower your stress levels—whether that means taking out trash, wiping down your kitchen surfaces, or getting rid of miscellaneous clutter.
However, make sure you do NOT procrastinate. Completing this task in the morning will let you free up the rest of the day for activities you genuinely like.
If you dread cleaning, consider playing upbeat music or engaging podcasts in the background to make the process more enjoyable.
3. Clean-Up Your Desk
If you work from home, your desk probably gets messy with documents, stationery, etc. So today, tidy up your work desk quickly.
Keeping your desk clutter-free and organized will help you reduce distractions and the stress caused by the demands of weekday work.

Something as trivial as adding fresh flowers or changing your bedsheets can make all the difference in no time.
5. Do Your Weekly & Monthly Chores
Write down lists of weekly and monthly chores you need to get done. Having a handwritten list will make sure you will NOT forget them.
Each Sunday, you can comfortably tick off those things (one by one), allowing you to start the week organized and prepared. It may include decluttering your pantry, making a grocery shopping trip, restocking empty jars, washing vegetables and fruits, and other essential tasks for a well-maintained home.
6. Plan Your Meals
If your daily schedule does not allow you to prepare meals for every day of the week, create a well-organized meal plan for the week ahead. It will surely make your life SO MUCH EASIER. And you can enjoy nourishing meals despite your hectic schedule.
7. Do the Laundry
Get your laundry washed, dried, folded, and put away by Sunday. So that you can start your week clean and fresh with an empty laundry basket.
8. Miscellaneous Tasks
Today is a GOOD time to address the tasks you may have been putting off throughout the week. This includes watering your plants, cleaning your makeup brushes, changing your bath mats and towels for a fresh look, etc. It is another way to start the week feeling nice and clean.
Oh, and do not forget to charge your devices! Because, like yourself, Sunday is a perfect day to recharge your devices as well.
9. Plan Your Week
Sit down, open your planner, and review your schedule for the upcoming week. This will help you prepare for the week ahead and effectively manage your days.
10. Have a Cozy Afternoon
Now that we have finished all the necessary tasks, it is time for you to enjoy some well-deserved leisure time. And your Sunday reset routine is incomplete without a peaceful and cozy afternoon at home.
In fact, Sundays are meant to encourage us to relax before the start of another busy week. You can cozy up on the couch with a book, enjoy watching movies with loved ones, sip and savor your favorite tea, or do whatever you please.
11. Journaling or Brain Dump
Another activity that a reset routine must include is journaling. There are multiple ways to engage in this activity. Whether you prefer bullet journaling or gratitude journaling, self-reflection is a very empowering practice.
However, if you cannot keep up with it, you can do a brain dump. Writing down everything that pops into your head on a blank page is a great way to alleviate stress and declutter your mind for the upcoming week.
12. Physical Activity
Sunday does not mean you can skip your workout session! You can, however, slow it down with some restorative yoga or by taking a leisurely walk.
Additionally, you can engage in some enjoyable sports activities with your family and friends to stay active.
13. Pamper Time!
Regardless of the number of chores you have to get done on a Sunday, making time to pamper yourself is an absolute must. Whether you want to take a relaxing bath, have an at-home spa session, or sit in your most comfortable pajamas and shop online—it is all up to you.
14. Treat Yourself
Treating yourself to something delightful will definitely elevate your mood.
As you schedule your Sunday, remember to leave some room for spontaneity. Set aside your evening to engage in activities that bring you happiness—whether going out with loved ones or enjoying a fun solo date.
15. Wind Down Early
On a Sunday, try going to bed earlier. This will give you extra time to relax, clear your mind, and feel refreshed for the week ahead. Being well-rested will guarantee that you will have the energy to tackle any challenges that come your way the next day and kick-start your week.
